Home office furniture that fits the awkward corner.
Built-in desks, shelving and storage designed for the space you actually have, painted in the colour you choose and fitted by Marius. Across West Cork and into Cork city.

A desk that was drawn for your wall, not a catalogue.
A fitted home office is a desk, shelving and storage designed for one room and fitted to it. It uses the alcove beside the chimney breast, the wall under the stairs, the box room, or the corner of the spare bedroom that a freestanding desk never quite suits. Nothing wobbles, nothing sticks out into the room, and the printer and the paperwork have doors to hide behind.
We start with how you work. One screen or two, a laptop that comes and goes, files that need to be reachable, a chair that tucks away when the room goes back to being a bedroom. Marius measures the space, draws a layout around that, and fits it himself. Desk height, shelf spacing and cupboard depth are decided for you, not for an average.
It is painted in the colour you choose, so it can match the wardrobes in the same room, the kitchen downstairs, or a wall of shelving in the sitting room. If you would rather a timber worktop on the desk, that is cut and fitted too.

Alcove desk, under-stairs desk or a full study wall.
Most home offices in West Cork houses are one of these.
Alcove desks
The alcove beside a chimney breast is usually the right depth for a desk and the wrong width for anything you can buy. A fitted desk uses the full width, with shelves above and a cupboard or drawers underneath. The other alcove can take a matching bookcase.
Under-stairs desks
The space under the stairs is often wasted. A desk cut to follow the slope of the stairs, with shelving stepped up behind it, turns it into a workspace that stays out of the way of the hall. Good for a house with no spare room.
Spare-room studies
A desk along one wall with cupboards above, so the room can still take a bed when family visits. Doors close over the screens and paperwork at the end of the day. Often paired with fitted wardrobes on the opposite wall, in the same colour.
Full study walls
For a room that is only ever an office. Desk, drawers, filing, shelving and closed storage in one fitted run, floor to ceiling if the ceiling allows. Space for two people if two people work from home.
Corner and eaves desks
Attic rooms and dormers with sloping ceilings, and the odd corner in an older farmhouse. The desk and the storage above are cut to follow the slope so no head room is wasted and no gap is left along the ceiling.
Measured, designed and fitted by the same person.

Call 085 254 4787A free consultation at your home
Marius comes to the room, measures the wall or the alcove, and asks how you actually work. Screens, laptop, printer, files, where the sockets are, where the light comes from. He brings colour samples so you can see them in the room.
A layout drawn around you
You get a drawing of the desk and storage as it will sit in your room, with a written, itemised quote and a clear timeline. Desk height, shelf spacing and cupboard depths are set for you. Nothing is ordered until you are happy.
Cut to fit and painted
Everything is cut to size for your room and painted in the finish you chose, or fitted with a timber top if that is what you want on the desk. Cable holes and grommets go where your equipment needs them, not where a catalogue put them.
Fitted by Marius
The desk and storage are fitted, scribed to the wall, the floor and the ceiling, and finished on site. Marius fits every piece himself, so the person who drew it is the one making sure the drawers run smooth and the desk sits level.
A few we’ve fitted.
The same fitted approach we bring to a desk: alcoves used to the inch, painted to suit the room.
Home office questions.
Straight answers. If yours isn’t here, call Marius — it’s quicker than a form.
Call 085 254 4787Can you fit a desk under the stairs?
Yes. Under-stairs desks are one of the better uses of that space. The desk and the shelving behind it are cut to follow the slope of the stairs, so nothing is wasted and nothing sticks out into the hall. Marius measures the rise and the depth on the consultation and draws it from there.
Will it work in a room that is still a bedroom?
That is the most common brief. A desk with cupboards above lets you close the doors on the screens and paperwork when family visits and the bed goes back in. It is often fitted in the same colour as the wardrobes in the room, so it reads as one piece of furniture.
What about cables and sockets?
We plan them in from the start. Tell us what you plug in and where the sockets are, and the desk gets cable holes and a route down the back where you need them. If you are adding sockets, we leave the space for them so the desk does not have to be cut around them later.
Can I have a timber desk top?
Yes. Timber and laminate worktops are cut and fitted by Marius, so a solid timber top on a painted desk is straightforward. Bring it up at the consultation and he will bring samples of the timber and the paint colours so you can see them together.
What does a fitted home office cost?
Every job is quoted on its own after a free consultation, because a single alcove desk and a full study wall are very different pieces of work. You get a written, itemised quote and a clear timeline before anything is ordered. The consultation costs nothing.
Other things we fit.
Kind words from our customers.

I am delighted with my kitchen. Marius took the small space I had, and rearranged the design of the kitchen to fit the space. It is now a refreshing and contemporary space with tons of storage. His attention to detail is exceptional. 100% recommend.
I needed a press built in where a fridge used to be and it had to look like the rest of the kitchen presses. Marius was so exact and his attention to detail is fantastic. Highly recommend him.
Placed a tricky ‘under-the-stairs’ cupboard with an eye for detail. Great result, we are so happy with it and the loads of storage! Neat on the job, flexible, excellent communication and Marius of ‘Kitchen Hero’ was only happy when the fit and finish were perfect 😃
Marius was a pleasure to deal with, from design ideas all the way up to construction and fitting. He gave us loads of extras, went through all the options and tailored our kitchen to our budget. The quality of his workmanship and his products are out of this world! He lives up to his name as the kitchen hero. Along with all the traditional carpentry/joinery skills he looked after the plumbing and working for the relocation of sinks, switches etc etc. thanks again for making our house a home!
