Timoleague kitchens that fit the house they’re in.
Based in Skibbereen, working in Timoleague, the village by the estuary and the farmland around it. Marius designs, cuts to size, paints and fits every kitchen himself.

A modern kitchen that still suits an old house.
Timoleague is a village of traditional houses along the main street and the lanes down towards the water, with farmhouses and rural bungalows spread over the land around it. A lot of the kitchens were fitted a long time ago and served well. Now they are short on storage, closed off from the rest of the house, and finished in something nobody would choose today.
The job is usually to give the house a kitchen that works now without making it look like a different house. Painted doors in a quiet colour, worktops that suit the room, storage where it is needed. Marius measures the room himself, designs it, cuts it to size and fits it. The consultation is free, at your house, with samples brought along.

Village houses, farmhouses and the bungalows between.
The kinds of house we see around Timoleague, and what tends to suit each.
Traditional houses in the village
Older houses along the street and lanes with solid walls, deep reveals and rooms of modest size. A painted kitchen with simple doors, cut to the walls, sits well here. The aim is a kitchen that feels like it belongs to the house and still has room for everything.
Bungalows from the seventies to the nineties
Galley and L-shaped kitchens, closed off from the living room by a wall and a door. Opening the room to the dining space, or planning the layout again inside the same walls, gives you more worktop and somewhere to sit. Marius will tell you which makes sense for your room.
Farmhouses and weekend houses
Out along the roads there are farmhouses with big working kitchens, and closer to the coast some houses kept as weekend places. Both want a kitchen that is easy to live with. Larder storage suits the farmhouses; a simple, well-planned room suits the weekend houses.

Call 085 254 4787Do you cover Timoleague?
Yes. Timoleague, the coast around Courtmacsherry and the farmland behind them are all within the area we work in from Skibbereen, which runs across West Cork and into Cork city. Marius comes to you for the consultation and fits the kitchen himself.
Can you modernise the kitchen without losing the feel of the house?
Yes, and that is the usual brief here. A painted shaker or plain door in a quiet colour, a worktop that suits the room, and storage cut to the walls give you a kitchen that works today and looks like it was always meant to be there.
What if I want to open the kitchen into the living room?
Say so at the consultation. Marius designs for the room as it will be once that work is done, and the kitchen is cut to fit the new space rather than the old one. He will tell you plainly what the kitchen side of it involves.
What happens at the free consultation?
Marius calls to your house, measures the room himself and brings samples of doors and colours. You talk through what you want and he tells you straight what he thinks, including whether new doors or a repaint would do. A written, itemised quote follows, with a clear timeline.

Kind words from our customers.

I am delighted with my kitchen. Marius took the small space I had, and rearranged the design of the kitchen to fit the space. It is now a refreshing and contemporary space with tons of storage. His attention to detail is exceptional. 100% recommend.
I needed a press built in where a fridge used to be and it had to look like the rest of the kitchen presses. Marius was so exact and his attention to detail is fantastic. Highly recommend him.
Placed a tricky ‘under-the-stairs’ cupboard with an eye for detail. Great result, we are so happy with it and the loads of storage! Neat on the job, flexible, excellent communication and Marius of ‘Kitchen Hero’ was only happy when the fit and finish were perfect 😃
Marius was a pleasure to deal with, from design ideas all the way up to construction and fitting. He gave us loads of extras, went through all the options and tailored our kitchen to our budget. The quality of his workmanship and his products are out of this world! He lives up to his name as the kitchen hero. Along with all the traditional carpentry/joinery skills he looked after the plumbing and working for the relocation of sinks, switches etc etc. thanks again for making our house a home!
