Everything we fit starts in Skibbereen. The workshop is here, so if you’d like to see finishes and work in progress before you decide anything, you can, by appointment. It’s a working space, not a display, and we don’t publish the address, so call first. For most people, though, the first consultation happens at home, where the room is.
The town has a bit of everything. Stone-fronted townhouses on the main streets with long, narrow kitchens at the back. Cottages out the Baltimore, Castletownshend and Lough Hyne roads with thick walls and low ceilings. Estates on the edge of town from the eighties and nineties whose original kitchens are getting tired. And newer houses and extensions where the kitchen is one end of a big open room.

Townhouses in the centre
The kitchen is often a narrow room at the back, sometimes a later addition with a lower ceiling than the rest of the house. What suits is a single run or a tight galley, tall units where the ceiling allows, and a pantry press so the worktop stays clear. Every width cut to the room, no filler strips.
Cottages and farmhouses in the townlands
Thick walls, deep window reveals, a chimney breast where the range used to be. These rooms reward a kitchen that leans into the shape rather than fighting it: units scribed to the wall, a window seat in the reveal, a dresser-style unit against the gable. Painted finishes sit well in these houses.
Estates and newer houses
The eighties and nineties estates around town have kitchens that were fine for their day and are now due a change. Sometimes new doors and a repaint is the honest answer. Sometimes the layout is the problem and it’s worth starting again. In newer open-plan houses, an island and a fitted utility next door usually earn their place.

Yes. Skibbereen is our base and the workshop is here. We work in the town itself and out through Baltimore, Castletownshend, Lough Hyne, Leap and the rest of the parish, and across West Cork beyond that.
Can I visit the workshop?
Yes, by appointment. Call 085 254 4787 and Marius will arrange a time. You can see finishes, painted samples and whatever is on the bench. There’s nothing set up as a display, so it’s a visit rather than a browse. Most people still start with a free consultation at home.
What happens at the free consultation?
Marius comes to your house, looks at the room and how you use it, measures it himself and brings samples so you can see colours in your own light. He designs around what he measured and you get a written, itemised quote with a clear timeline. No pressure either way.
Do you only do full new kitchens?
No. If your units are sound and the layout works, new doors or a fresh painted finish can make the kitchen feel new, and we’ll say so. If the layout is the problem, we’ll say that too.
